🧠 Why capture comes first

Every day starts with a brain dump — a messy, unfiltered stream of ideas, goals, problems, and sparks of insight, spoken into whatever device is closest.
For years, that's where most of it died. Voice notes scattered across apps. Transcripts nobody reread. Ideas that were genuinely good — gone, because the capturing was easy but the keeping was work.
SignalFlow starts from a simple inversion: capture should be the only thing you do. Everything after should happen to the note, not by you.

🔄 From voice to velocity: the flow

Here's what happens to a thought inside SignalFlow today:
  1. Capture — speak or type, from any device. Phone, watch, desktop, voice recorder. No filing decision, no "where does this go?"
  2. Refine — the transcript is cleaned and corrected. Every fix is tracked; uncertain words are flagged instead of silently guessed. The goal is a transcript you can trust.
  3. Atomize — the note is broken into Signal Blocks: small, addressable units of meaning. Each block gets a stable address, a type, and a confidence state — draft until reviewed, locked once verified. Locked means: this is true, build on it.
  4. Connect — blocks link themselves into your graph: to the project they advance, the people they mention, the ideas they extend — and, crucially, how they relate (this supports that; this counters that). Provenance is preserved: every insight can be traced back to the moment you said it.
  5. Act — agents read the graph and surface what matters: tasks extracted to your queue, decisions flagged for review, recurring themes distilled into direction. With receipts — you can always see why something surfaced.
That's the loop. Your raw thinking goes in; organized, trustworthy, actionable knowledge comes out. The signal gets stronger every pass.

Every captured thought lands as one of these six. The color follows it everywhere — Notion, your calendar, your files, even physical index cards and folders. The color stays the same. The tool doesn't matter. Your brain learns the shortcut once and it works everywhere.

🧩 Why atomic blocks change everything

A note is a bucket; a Signal Block is a building block. The difference compounds:
  • A block can appear in many places without being copied — one truth, many views.
  • Blocks carry their own confidence: your system knows what's verified vs raw, so agents (and future-you) know what to trust.
  • Typed links turn a pile of notes into an argument map — you can see what supports a decision and what cuts against it.
  • Provenance means nothing is orphaned. Every block knows which voice note it came from, and when.
This is what makes the system safe for AI to operate: agents work on clean, addressable, confidence-scored pieces — not a soup of text they might misread.
